Soaps-and-Potions

Soaps and Potions is a small, family-run business. We work from home in southwest Ohio. Barbara is the woman behind Soaps and Potions, from developing the recipes, to choosing the scents and colors, to building the website and choosing what venues in which to peddle our soap.

Alex, my husband, works in a retail environment, though he is always open to new possibilities. He likes to flint-knap and go arrowhead hunting in his spare time.

We have three children who are all grown up now and lead busy lives of their own. We have one granddaughter who lights up our world.

Barbara is now a busy IT professional, currently working for a major corporation, providing Level 3 point of sale support to retail enterprises. She also was a volunteer breastfeeding counselor for many years and enjoyed the work she did with online chats for that organization as well as in-person meetings and support. Many of her long-time friendships came out of that organization.

If it is important to you, we are a smoke-free home. While we are no longer pet-free, we have a small dog who is a breed that doesn’t shed, which was important when we got him as we had a family member with compromised lung function.
